Google rewards a research of the University of Pisa. It is the third Google Research Award, within the "Algorithms and Optimization" class of awards.
Another prize from Google to the Computer Science Department of the University of Pisa research group led by Professor Paolo Ferragina, which for many years was active in a scientific collaboration with big-G. The awarded project is called "From Brotli to personalized data compression" and focuses on Brotli, an innovative compression format developed by Google to optimize web browsing, increasing the compression of the data and reducing transmission times and decompression inside the browser.
