Who is the data controller?

The data controller is the Italian National Research Council (CNR), based in Piazzale Aldo Moro, 7, 00185 Roma, Italy, through the Institute of Information Science and Technologies “A. Faedo” (ISTI). CNR is the central node of the SoBigData infrastructure and determines the purposes and means of personal data processing through SoBigData’s websites.

Why do we process your personal data?

We automatically process your personal data for the sole purpose of allowing you to visit our website.

More specifically, we process your IP address. We do not process further information about you. 

What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?

We process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) because it would be impossible for us to provide you access to our website without processing your IP address. The whole process is automatic.

For how long do we process your personal data?

Your personal data is processed for the sole duration of your session on our website. 

Option to object to the processing

The processing is necessary for the operation of our website, therefore there is no option to object to it.

Data recipients and international transfers

Our servers are based in our central node at ISTI-CNR in Italy, so your data are not shared with other parties or transferred outside of the European Economic Area. 

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, and, when applicable, the right to correct it, erase it or restrict its processing, as well as the right to data portability and to object to processing of personal data in specific cases.

You have the right to lodge complaints with a Supervisory Authority as stated in Art. 77 of the GDPR.
