On 30 May 2017, the Antitrust Authority, the Authority for Guarantees and Communications and the Authority for the Protection of Personal Data initiated a joint fact-finding investigation concerning the identification of any critical issues related to the use of the so-called big data and the definition of a framework of rules able to promote and protect the protection of personal data, the competition of the digital economy markets, consumer protection, as well as the pluralism promotion profiles in the digital ecosystem.
