Colorful Seminar Series: The new frontiers of Artificial intelligence in child neurology - 6° Seminar

Title: The new frontiers of Artificial intelligence in child neurology

Speaker: Giuseppina Sgandurra (Department of Clinical and experimental medicine, University of Pisa &  Department of Developmental Neuroscience, IRCCS Fondazione Stella Maris)

Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence in the healthcare is growing, however there are very few studies focused on its use in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of neurodevelopmental disorders. A novel approach called REHANOSTIC (REHAbilitative and diagNOSTIC) will be presented, based on the four building blocks of personalized healthcare in which clinical, digital and neuroimaging data are combined to provide decision support tools for delivering personalized functional diagnosis and target rehabilitation. This approach, codeveloped in the framework of a big European project (www.aincp.eu) in children with cerebral palsy, the most common disability in childhood, is opening the frontiers of the use of AI in the field of child neurology.

The "Colorful Seminars: Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion" is an initiative of UNIPI to increase the representativeness of diverse groups and bridge the equity gap between underrepresented and marginalized communities. International experts belonging to different communities will be invited to hold seminars on the topics covered by the SoBigData.it project to promote more diverse and inclusive participation in computer and data science events.

The seminars will be hosted by the Department of Computer Science in "Sala Riunioni est" (also with streaming) or will be held exclusively online.
