Multilayer networks (MLNs) have become a popular choice to model complex systems. However, current MLN storage, manipulation, and analysis solutions are challenged by the size and complexity of contemporary sources of network data. In addition, the availability of several libraries for MLNs raises questions concerning standardisation.
In this seminar, we discuss a comparison of software libraries for MLN analysis, along with the current limitations to be addressed for the improvement of the MLN data analysis ecosystem.
To assess the applicability of existing solutions to contemporary data and the maturity level of the MLN data analysis ecosystem, we compare software libraries for the quantitative analysis of MLNs concerning supported operators and their scalability. We also compile a list of current limitations to be addressed to develop more effective and more broadly applicable MLN analysis pipelines.

The "Colorful Seminars: Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion" is an initiative of UNIPI to increase the representativeness of diverse groups and bridge the equity gap between underrepresented and marginalized communities.
International experts belonging to different communities will be invited to hold seminars on the topics covered by the SoBigData.it project to promote more diverse and inclusive participation in computer and data science events.
The seminars will be hosted by the Department of Computer Science (also with streaming) or will be held exclusively online.
