FAIR: the SoBIgData free online course to become responsible data scientists

On May 25th SoBigData launched FAIR, a free online course to help orienting in the new European regulation on privacy.

The course is aimed at data scientists and all those who work with the data and provides them with the basic elements of the new regulation and suggests the ethical questions that every responsible data scientist should make.

The project with Luca Pappalardo and Paolo Cintia from the University of Pisa and CRN-ISTI: "It is clear then that the game remains unpredictable, it is its beauty. A SAGE Ocean Concept Grant won by SoBigData! The SoBigData member Stefano Cresci (IIT-CNR) won this very prestigious award with a proposal based on digital DNA.

The results come from a research done by Fabrizio Lillo, Maurizio Tesconi and Stefano Cresci, members of the SoBigData project.

G7 Academies' Summit Ottawa

With international partners, including the Government of Canada, the RSC prepared a series of G7 Research Summits throughout 2018 that will culminate in Halifax in November 2018 during the annual gathering.

Tuscan Big Data Challenge 2017/2018

After the success of the first edition, also this year the SoBigData lab has launched the Tuscan Big Data Challenge. The call was opened from November 1st to December 31st and a roadshow around Tuscany were organized in order to present the Challenge. Also this year the requests for participation were many, all very interesting. This is the reason that led SoBigData researchers to accept 5 proposals, two more than what was established in the call.
